"A Heart Healthy Lifestyle with Celiac Disease
Brandy Wendler was crowned Mrs. Alaska International 2012 this past November. Mrs. Alaska International and the International pageant system is well-known worldwide and each contestant wears their prestigious title with pride. The pageant requires each contestant to choose a platform to speak on throughout their reign, and Brandy’s passion for raising awareness about celiac disease and speaking to others throughout the nation who have been diagnosed, serves her title well. Brandy heads the Anchorage Gluten-Free Support Group and enjoys blogging about her speaking and traveling. She founded a non-profit named "A Spoonful of Wellness" last year, and was also an essential part of getting legislation passed in Alaska this year to recognize May as National Celiac Disease Awareness Month.
